Youth: GCYFC vs Woking Weds 26th - SYL
« Thread Started on Nov 24, 2008, 3:42pm »

Our Youth take on Woking again this Wednesday at The Spectrum, but this time it's against their team from the Southern Youth League, West Division.

Spectators welcomed as always, as are volunteer ball boys & girls. 7:45 pm kick off.

Cheers! ;D

A really encouraging display from our boys, apart form 10 minutes of madness.

H/T and it's 0-0, City have had their fair share of the game, attempts on target, etc, genuinley a 50/50 game for which we were all really boyed up, even daring to dream of the win.

But alas shortly after the break came 10 minutes of madness. Woking popped one in and before the shock settled, stuck in another. For good measure a third followed, City needed to rally or an undeserved whitewash would be the score line.

This slide was stopped by City Captain Damien Arthur lashing in a long one to restore a bit of fight. The game then continued in the same vein as the first half but it was to no avail, the damage had already been done.

So, come the end of it many of us were disappointed for our lads because it didn't feel like a 3-0 game, so we'll take the positives like the first half performance, which shows us we're not far off form being genuinely competitive, just need to firm up in some areas.
